Overview
This Cookies Policy describes how CartonVista uses browser storage technologies, including HTTP cookies, localStorage, and IndexedDB. It explains what information remains on your device and how third-party infrastructure providers may independently handle certain technical data.
This policy complements the Privacy Policy by focusing specifically on browser storage mechanisms. It does not replace the broader privacy discussion but provides additional technical detail about how CartonVista implements its browser-first approach.
CartonVista's current cookie practices
Based on the current implementation (as of October 2026), CartonVista's application code does not explicitly set HTTP cookies for session management, user tracking, or advertising purposes.
The existing Privacy Policy states that the current application code does not include advertising or analytics trackers, and CartonVista does not use application-set advertising cookies.
However, it's important to recognize that third-party infrastructure providers—such as hosting platforms, content delivery networks, and security services—may independently process certain technical requests and could potentially set cookies or similar identifiers as part of their normal operations.
CartonVista does not claim that no cookies can ever be set by browser software, hosting infrastructure, or network security providers. The focus of this policy is on what CartonVista's own application code currently implements.
Local storage and IndexedDB
CartonVista's current implementation relies on browser-local storage technologies to provide a persistent workspace experience:
- localStorage: Used for small preferences such as unit system (metric/imperial), handling preferences, and optimization objectives
- IndexedDB: Used for structured data storage including workspace drafts, recent items and plans, saved Business products and cartons, and recent projects
These browser-local storage mechanisms are distinct from HTTP cookies:
- They store data exclusively on your device
- They are not automatically transmitted to websites or servers
- They persist according to browser storage policies, not cookie expiration rules
Data stored locally in your browser does not automatically mean it is uploaded to CartonVista or any third-party service. The current product is designed to keep core workspace data browser-local.
Hosting and essential technologies
CartonVista is currently hosted on Cloudflare Pages, a static hosting platform. Like any web hosting infrastructure, Cloudflare may process technical request information as part of normal website delivery and security operations.
Third-party infrastructure providers may independently:
- Process standard technical request information like IP addresses, user-agent strings, request URLs, and timing data
- Implement security measures that could involve cookies or similar identifiers
- Maintain logs for operational, security, or diagnostic purposes
CartonVista does not control the specific cookie practices or technical implementations of third-party infrastructure providers. The existence of security or infrastructure-related cookies depends on provider configuration and may change without direct notification from CartonVista.
For detailed information about a specific provider's practices, please refer to that provider's own privacy documentation.
Your browser controls
Modern browsers provide various controls for managing cookies and site data:
- Cookie settings: Most browsers allow you to view, manage, or block cookies through their privacy or settings menus
- Site data clearing: You can clear stored data for specific websites, including cookies, localStorage, and IndexedDB data
- Private browsing: Using private/incognito modes can limit data persistence between sessions
- Browser extensions: Various privacy-focused extensions provide additional control over tracking technologies
Clearing site data for CartonVista will remove browser-local application storage, including workspace drafts, saved items, preferences, cartons, and projects stored only in that browser. Please ensure you have exported any CSV or JSON backups before clearing site data if you wish to preserve your work.
Exported CSV and JSON files are separate files controlled by you, not tied to browser storage. You can save them independently and restore them later if needed.
Future technologies and policy changes
As CartonVista evolves, future integrations, analytics tools, account features, or cloud services may introduce different browser storage technologies. Any material changes to CartonVista's technical implementation will be reflected accurately in the published policies.
Potential future additions could include:
- Optional account features requiring session management
- Analytics tools to understand product usage patterns
- Cloud synchronization for cross-device access
- Third-party integrations with additional technical requirements
This policy will be updated to reflect any such changes when they are implemented. CartonVista does not currently use these services, and their mention here does not imply they exist or will be implemented.
